Eight by sn0otchie Eight by sn0otchie

Not an actual 8th Doctor quote in case you were wondering. :)

This one, however, is:

“I used to be that guy. A man with a master plan, seeking out injustices and toppling governments all in the name of the the greater good. I'd started to do the maths - that's how evil starts, with the ends justifying the means. Once you start down that road there's no turning back; what if you could save a million lives but you have to let ten people die - or a hundred, or a hundred thousand? Where do you stop? .... That's why I no longer travel alone, so I could never forget how precious a single life is.”

So yeah, remember that bit in the anniversary special when they decided NOT to blow up Gallifrey? That was Eight.

Very cool commentary on the 8th Doctor. He needs more love for his stance on defending life.

"I came here to drink milk and kick ass. And I've just finished my milk."
I believe Moss from the IT crowd is a timelord in disguise.

This is so relevant to the Twelfth Doctor right now, because that's exactly how he has been thinking. And the thing is that Clara has started to accept it.
And this looks lovely; you really captured Eight's likeness.

Wow. I haven't really thought about that, but now that you've said it I guess you're right! It's very fitting! And yes, this whole maths philosophy and cold-blooded practicality over compassion has really started to rub off on Clara. Do you think that's the reason he's gonna let her go? Because she can no longer provide the moral guidance he needs from a companion?

And thank you so much! I'm glad you like it. :) I hope I draw him again at some point.

I'd never considered that he was going to let her go. But considering how the trailer for the finale looks, I'm not sure Clara will make it out alive, so that might not even be an option. And it seems to that we get to see evil Clara, which looks really good.

To be honest I don't think Clara's going to die. I mean they haven't actually killed a companion ever since the show was brought back (unless you count River as a companion). It's always been either the Doctor and companions getting separated or companions leaving the Doctor. Somehow I don't think the're ready to go the killing route, but I do think they might make the Doctor the one who decides to leave for good this time. But eeh, I guess we'll know soon enough. :)

That seems especially likely considering what Clara did in tonight's episode.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure once he's helped her get Danny back (assuming there is a way of getting him back) it's gonna be a goodbye.

Yes please! Still gutted they aren't going to give him his own spin-off series or at least a few specials. Even just another minisode would be great.

Thanks! :D The Doctor Who people should really think about releasing an official 8th Doctor knitting kit. With patterns that say things like “Rassilion is a massive tit” in circular Gallifreyan. Just putting the idea out there. :)

That's the reason (one of the reasons) I love Doctor Who - with all its ridiculousness and occasional flaws they never forget to get the point across that ordinary lives matter. It's a show that doesn't have red shirts. Sometimes people still die but it's never something you don't care about. Which is an attitude you rarely see in television - we rarely care about real people we hear about on the news, let alone nameless fictional characters.

It’s funny how Doctor Who is a show with aliens, and robots, and “bug-eyed monsters” but at the end of the day, it’s all about humanity. : )
